Homer is built entirely in layers, with each piece individually cut, carved, shaped, sanded and hand painted to create a rounded, dimensional look. Small carved details run throughout the piece, from his face and hands to the folds in his shirt, coffee mug and rising steam.
His signature hair is made from fine wire, while hand-applied resin adds a glossy finish to details on the mug and oversized COFFEE! lettering. Each letter is individually cut and shaped, turning the typography into part of the artwork itself.
Everything sits against a moody blue-gray background and is finished in a handmade solid canary wood frame, chosen for its naturally warm coloring and beautiful grain.
